Ray Price, “Bright Lights and Blonde Haired Women,” off Night Life (1962)

I love, love, love this record. The title track (penned by Willie Nelson!) is so great. Some of the best pedal steel playing, ever. The perfect 3 a.m. listen.

(Thx, countryandwestern!)

I’ve tried my damndest before to do this song, but I just can’t get it. Ray Price was truly a masterful singer.
