Time and music are so interwoven. We walk around awash in our own past, listening to songs that meant a lot to us at certain points.
Jennifer Egan, author of A Visit from the Goon Squad (I drew her at a reading) Music (like a lot of art) really is time travel — in the sense that times and places come to us when we’re listening to it, that you *need* time for music (at least 3 minutes for your average pop song), and that when you’re playing it, alone, or with a friend, an hour can feel like a minute.
