Just going back through NPR’s two excerpts from Dash Shaw’s Bottomless Belly Button, I saw what Derik pointed out in his post on using words instead of images, and his article, “Text In Comics.”: the way Shaw uses text for sound and action: two things hard to show in pictures. I cut and pasted these panels just to show… (read the book a month or so ago)
