Um, well, Mary, I don’t believe I said only artists should have affordable housing and free health care. I said, “If we had universal health care and affordable housing, people could be more creative, sleep better at night, and live longer.” “We” as in, us, and “people,” as in, well, people. This includes plumbers, teachers, housewives, househusbands, sanitation workers, etc. Have a nice night.

I know plenty of people who are sweating health-care coverage. None of them are poor kids. And they don’t work at Wal-Mart. The people I know who are worried sick about coverage work for themselves, many in creative fields. Most of these freelancers and entrepreneurs are in the cross hairs of our health-care crisis…
